Meet The Face Behind Auger Sand & Gravel Inc.

I’m Vance Auger, the proud owner of Auger Sand & Gravel Inc. I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I began my career working in the Alberta oilfield on service rigs, and I learned a lot in those years about bush roads, lease construction, and heavy equipment, and I found a great interest in all of it.

With all this experience and knowledge, in 2003, I began Auger Sand & Gravel Inc., as I enjoyed working with aggregates and wanted to supply a product that makes a difference. I started with simple equipment and have worked very hard over the last nineteen years to build my business. In 2017 we purchased the Moose Hill pit.

I am in my element when bidding on jobs and planning how to be most efficient in our land reclamation. The most rewarding part of owning my own business is when it all comes together, and I can offer a good product I am proud of. My philosophy is “Work hard, and it will pay off.”

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is I feel it is essential to run my operations with honesty, fairness, and professionalism.

I attribute my success to my hard work and dedication. Over the years though there have been ups and downs, my never-say-die attitude has served me well and seen to it that I never falter on my quest for success.

My most satisfying moment was when I was able to purchase the Moose Hill pit. Serving my customers has given me immense satisfaction over the years.

When I am not at work, I have a few things I like doing in my spare time. I enjoy sledding in the mountains, fishing, mowing grass, and spending time with my family, to name a few.

I also believe in giving back to society, and as part of that belief, I support Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
